UPI ID creation - List of Solutions to potential issues

As the UPI creation exercise is under process and research analyst are in process of creation of UPI on BSE portal which will be used starting 1st Oct 25

There are many queries which we have received and there are certain common issues faced by many research analyst.

We have compiled a list of potential questions/issues you may have regarding UPI ID creation and their solution. Save this message for future reference.

The process is as follows

Step 1: Creation of UPI Id on BSE portal

Step 2 : UTN number allocation by SEBI

Step 3: Communication of UTN number to Bank by research analyst

Step 4: Verification of documents by Bank

Step 5: Approval of UPI Ids request

LIST OF POTENTIAL ISSUES & SOLUTIONS - CREATION OF UPI IDs

ISSUE 1 - UPI ID NOT CREATED

Create the UPI id on BSE portal. You can create one or multiple UPI Ids. Make sure your bank detail is updated in the BSE portal. If not, first update the bank details and than proceed for UPI IDs creation.

ISSUE 2- UPI ID CREATED BUT UTN NO NOT COMING

Wait for UTN number to reflect in BSE portal. It will be visible next to request status. Keep checking portal for UTN Request

ISSUE 3- UPI CREATED AND UTN GENERATED AND BANK NAME COMING IN BANK CONTACT LIST

The request status will remain pending. In case your bank is mentioned in the contact list of bank issued by BSE, communicate with bank on email mentioning the UTN number for approval of request. Also, send the UTN number & other information to exchange/SEBI in format mentioned in the BSE mail. The mail id mentioned in the BSE mail itself.

ISSUE 4- UPI CREATED AND UTN GENERATED BUT BANK NAME NOT COMING IN CONTACT LIST OF BANKS ISSUED BY BSE

Wait for the updated list. Currently only 7 banks are coming in the Bank contact list. Soon BSE will add more banks to the list ( as per today webinar) and updated list will be issued. Once the updated list is issued and your bank name is reflected - Follow the solution in ISSUE 3 above.
